At MGI, we believe that language is the foundation of all learning. Strong language skills — both written and spoken — are essential for academic success, personal confidence, and meaningful participation in a globalized world.
Languages Offered
English (First Language)
English is the primary medium of instruction at MGI. Our English Language program emphasizes reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, spoken fluency and literary appreciation across all grade levels.
Hindi (Second Language)
Hindi as a second language develops students' proficiency in India's official national language. The program covers reading, writing, grammar and conversational Hindi through engaging activities and literature.
Kannada (Third Language / Regional)
As a school in Karnataka, MGI offers Kannada language learning to build regional cultural connection and meet state education requirements. Students develop reading, writing and conversational Kannada skills.
Sanskrit (Optional)
Sanskrit, as an optional language, connects students with India's rich literary and philosophical heritage, while also supporting cognitive development through its structured grammar and logic.
Language Learning Approach
- Communicative Language Teaching: Emphasis on real-life communication skills — speaking, listening, reading and writing — rather than rote memorization.
- Literature-Integrated Learning: Exposure to quality literature builds vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of reading.
- Drama & Debate: Spoken language is developed through drama, storytelling, and debate activities.
- Language Labs: Interactive digital language labs support listening and pronunciation practice.
Multilingual Education: Research shows that multilingual students develop stronger cognitive flexibility, problem-solving skills, and cultural empathy. MGI's language program builds these advantages from an early age.
